PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, MARCH 11, 1983

Comments From Monthly Church Reports
AMARILLO, TX--JAMES M. O'BRIEN:
The taped sermons from Mr.
Armstrong have served as sobering admonitions of the reality of
Biblical prophecy as opposed to the facade of the world. After
Mr. Armstrong speaks, life's priorities are better adjusted.
Many members have commented about the broadcasts as well. In
terestingly, some of the older broadcasts have a strong appeal
for our members because of their timeless value. Listening to a
broadcast describing current problems that may have been recorded
25 years ago is an added impetus to listen to God's apostle.
KNOXVILLE, TN--DAVID L. ORBAN: Last month and this month we have
had improved Bible study attendance--just above 50% of our aver
age weekly Church attendance. I feel Mr. Armstrong's emphasis on
the seriousness and shortness of time in which we live has stir
red many to more active participation in Bible study.
WHEELING, WV--R. SHORTY FUESSEL: Individuals who had previously
attended are once again returning with a renewed interest in
seeking baptism, sensing the urgency of the times. Also, an in
creased number of longtime attending PMs are now requesting bap
tism.
WINCHESTER, VA--WILLIAM R. PACK:
PM activity continues to run
high. Of the 120 people in this congregation, 30 of them have
begun attending just this past year. That is a 33% increase in
just one year!
COLUMBUS (AM), OH--ROBERT DICK:
We are having good, steady PM
growth--and the quality of PMs is above the average of the last
several years.
The Church is slowly growing despite attrition
due to some members moving south in search of employment.
PORTLAND (EAST)
I
OR--BRYAN H. HOYT: PM activity has been unusu
ally high this month. Two should be ready to be baptized next
month. Brethren have been very encouraged by the growth in The
PLAIN TRUTH, radio and TV.
I have heard many comments from
brethren on how wonderfully strong the broadcasts are.
TEXARKANA, TX--DAN WHITE: All seem to be trying harder to please
God and are willing to change to do that. PM activity continues
strong as people are responding very quickly to Mr. Armstrong's
telecast.
RALEIGH, NC--MIKE BOOZE: In the past few months PM activity has
been better than in past years. Many PMs are very anxious to have
more information about the truth, but seem to lack the zeal to
obey what they have learned.
AMBASSADOR COLLEGE UPDATE
(Pasadena Campus)
--Joe Tkach, Ministerial Services
On Friday, March the 4th, Mr. Armstrong gave final approval for both cam
puses of Ambassador College to begin working together in order to present
