PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, February 27, 1981
Holy Spirit, which is abundantly visible in the friendliness and
harmony of God's people there.
The presence of the Spanish-speaking ministers certainly added a
unique and exciting flavour, and clearly underlined the fact that
the unity of God's truth far transcends any differences of national
ity or language in this truly worldwide Work.
A big ''thank you" to all the instructors for all the effort that
went into the planning and preparation of the classes. Every
session was obviously researched in great depth, and presented
practical, meaty, knowledge that will really help make our ministry
more effective. The way you all willingly gave of your time to be
there at the question-and-answer afternoon, in spite of your press
ing responsibilities in other areas, set us a tremendous example
we need to follow in passing on God's truth to the brethren by
laying down our lives (i.e. our time) for them.
As we go home and study over our hundreds of pages of notes, the
value of the course will continue to be felt for many months and
years into the future.

Dear Mr. Tkach:
It has been nearly three weeks since I finished three of the most
jampacked and spiritually-motivating weeks in my whole life. The
seventh session of the Ministerial Refreshing Program was a high
point in my life as well as it was for my wife, Millie.
We would just lke to take a few minutes to thank you and your
staff, and to ask you to pass on to Mr. Armstrong our deep
appreciation and thanks for having designed and instituted the
program. Never have I felt more satisfied as I did on a number
of occasions as I listened to one of the instructors explaining
and reaffirming a basic doctrine of the Church.
All of the ministers instructing us were motivated and their
presentations were motivating and reassuring. It is true, someone
had tried to move the lighthouse, but in spite of all of Satan's
vile efforts, the Truth was still shining through just as it was
when Mr. Armstrong, led by God's Spirit, preached it when he was
raising up the Philadelphia Era of His Church.
As I mentioned to you one evening in the Student Center after the
course had terminated, it was very encouraging and reassuring to
see the consistency manifested by men such as Messrs. Blackwell,
McNair, Hoeh, Neff and yourself. The lectures we received were
so reminiscent of Ambassador College classes when I attended in
the early sixties. Actually, all of the instructors did a
tremendous job, and Millie and I are thankful and appreciative
of them, but since I have known you and the others mentioned, it
was especially encouraging to see how you all had kept the faith
--you sounded just as you did years ago!
