PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, November 14, 1980
Page 19
MODESTO, CA., NOEL HORNOR: Upon my return from the Ministerial
Refreshing Program, the people were all very excited about the news
I brought and the direction the Church is taking. Attitudes are more
positive than they have been for some time. Church attendance is
showing an increase too.
MIDLAND, TX., KEITH WALDEN: Brethren are enjoying sermons on notes
from the Refreshing Program--sermons like the "Old Days." They show
interest and enjoyment in them.
MEDFORD, OR., FRED DAVIS: Suddenly a number of people are requesting
baptism counseling. Our P.T. distribution efforts are showing some
results and the brethren are getting behind the program more vigor
ously.
MASON CITY, IA., KEITH F. THOMAS: It feels great to be back on the
firing-line. Pastoring God's people has got to be one of the most
rewarding occupations on this earth.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA., STEVE MARTIN: New people are coming, I think,
because of publicity of Church through Church vs. State controversy.
HOUSTON, TX., HAL W. BAIRD, JR.: People continually express their
thankfulness for Mr. Armstrong's positive approach in getting God's
Church back on the track. The Ministerial Refreshing Program was
fantastic. The warmth, friendliness, fellowship with ministers
and their wives was much greater than anything I can remember in
years, if ever before. Direct word from Mr. Herbert Armstrong and
how Jesus Christ is working through him and those carrying out his
policies has sure brought tremendous unity among the ministers. A
great big thanks to all of you conducting classes. I know Mr. Arm
strong and Jesus Christ must be pleased with your actions.
KALISPELL, MT., BILL QUILLEN: Everyone excited about the visit from
Pasadena by Dean Blackwell and Aaron Dean. A few families were
able to be at the airport to see the G-II off!! Always good to see
someone from Pasadena and hear about the Work.
DAVENPORT, IA., DAVID HAVIR: The brethren have generally been
analyzing their commitment and rekindling their zeal.
WEST BEND, WI., FELIX HEIMBERG: People are really beginning to
comprehend how God has used the legal battle with resultant full
page ads to further the Work.
GREELEY, CO., CHUCK ZIMMERMAN: Content and volume of Mr. Armstrong's
writings in WN, GN, PT, etc. is uplifting and producing growth in
our local congregations.
KANSAS CITY, KS., RUSSELL DUKE: Tremendous P.M. response as of this
summer. Several new families are now attending regularly--as well
as several individuals. They are making real commitments to God and
His Work. We really appreciated the opportunity to serve at S.E.P.
this summer wit.
h the Y.O.U. Staff and the other ministers. Hope
we can be of further help in the future.
