health. To quit making mistakes,
you need most of all to study and

tion all the day" (Ps. 119:97).
Use your mind! Examine your
mistakes and problems in the light
of the Ten Commandments and see
where you have been wrong. Ask
God for the s trength and cou rage

of your errors!

A truly successful man is one who
learns todo the things he doesn' t al
first lik e to do. Although you
should choose your occupation in a
field where you excel, there are
certai n facels of almost any job that
may be disagreeable. To be suc–
cessful, learn to
set yourself to
per–
form unplcasant chores with vigor!
Also, you must learn to
discipline
your tongue, your t houghts, actions
and appcti tcs. You may have a ten–
dency to say too much and lherefore
constantly strain relalions wilh your
boss, your husband or your wi fe. Or
to overindulge in alcoholic beverages
lo the extreme detriment of job,
famil y and friendships. To be suc–
cessful a nd
stay successful
you must
RULE
over your appetites, emotions
and words Or they
W ILL RULE OVER
YOU!
Notice God 's instruction: " He
t hat is slow to anger is better than
thc mighly; and he that ruleth his
spiril [thoughts and emotions] t han
he lhat taketh a city" (Prov. 16:32).
Note this warning regarding
careless speech: " He lhat keepeth
his mouth keepeth bis life: but he
that openeth wide his lips shall
have destruction" (Prov. 13:3).

friends or on the job, learn to think
befare you speak!
Jf you tend to be lazy or slug–
gish, again you musl discipline
yourself to get up, to get going and
to accomplish! This is not easy, bul
once you set the
HABIT
of hard
work and accomplishment , things
will begin to come your way. "The
hand of the
di/igent
shall bear rule:
but the slothful shall be under trib–
ute" (Prov. 12:24).
Your Wholehea r ted ACTION
Required
To really quit making constant mis–
takes and to become a success, you
will have to fervently desire true
success. Just thinking abou t it isn't
good enough. You musl be willing
to pay the price of success. lt is
worth it!
First, you need to find the real
CAUSE
of you r problems or mis–
takes. Don' t spend all your time
and effort coming up with a tempo–
rary sol ution lhat only alleviales lhe
result o f you r mist ake. Get al the
CAUSE
and thereby avoid future
mistakes of the same nature.
Second , learn lo
ADMtT
and
go to
work
on your mistakes. Follow Ber–
nard Baruch's example of seeking to
determine where
you
have made
your
mislakes- never seeking to
excuse yourself but guarding solely
against a repelition of the same
error.
Third ,
/earn
and
practice
the
laws of lifc, health and success.
