Jesus'
Startling Prophecy
So notice this amazing prophecy
o f Jesus in Matthew 24:
Tbe disciples had come to Jesus
privately o n the Mount of Olives.
"Tell us." they asked. "when shall
these things be? And what shall be
the sign of thy coming, a nd of the
end of the [present) world" (Mat–
thew 24:3)?
Before giving them the sign by
which we sho uld know when his sec–
ond coming is imminent, J esus first
warned them:
"Take heed that no
man deceive you. For many sha ll
come in my name, saying.

[Jesus]
am the C hris t : and sha ll deceive
many ." In other words,
many
would
claim to be C hris t 's mini s ters, pro–
claiming that Jesus was the Chris t.
Many tod ay are
preaching Christ to
the world!
Actually they preach a
DIFFERENT Chris t and a DIFFERENT
"gospel" that
denies
the kingdom of
God and is
deceiving
th e many.
They have preached about the
mes–
senger,
whi le denying his MESSAGE!
The tragedy of it al! is that such
ministers probably are entirely sin–
cere - they be lieve they are right -
but the Bi ble clearly affirms tha t the
WHOLE WORLD is today DECEIVED. A
d ece ived person does no t know he is
deceived.
But , sa id Je s u s (ve r se 14):
" ... this gospel of the kingdom shall
be preached in all the world for a
wi tness unto a ll nations; and
then
shall th e end [ofthis world] come."

"another gospe l" -
perverting
the
true gospe1 of CHRIST (Gal. 1:6-7).
II Corinthians 11:14 and 13-15

claiming. at Corinth . a ditferent
Jesus. a ditferent spirit. a ditferent
gospel - and that
they were minis–
ters of Satan.

Chris t. Their organized opposition
and persecution s topped the pro–
claiming of the gospel of the king–
dom to the world.
The true gos pel of the kingdom of
God was NOT proclaimed to the
world after thc firs t cen tury .

the years. th e proclaiming of it ow
would
not be the sign
of Jesus' immi–
nent coming!
Proclaiming the gospel IN ALL
THE WORLD to be a witness "unto all
nations" IS preparing the way be–
fore the second coming!
And THAT
IS
"the Work "
fo r now
in o ur day !
And, consider this: the very fact
that Jesus gave his sign of his second
coming - the proclaiming of his
gospel OF THE KINGDOM
just bejore
he r etums to se t up that kingdom -
shows tha t " the Work" was to be
revived AT THIS PRECISE TIME.
" lnto All the World "
So. as s ta ted before, mo re than 41
years ago the liv ing C hrist ca lled
and chose me as his instrument in
reviving
"the Work" - carrying out
the great commissio n in this END
TIME - just before the END of this
present evil world!
The revivi ng of "the Work" ac–
tua lly
started
in 1927 when Chris t
call ed me , brought me to repen–
tance a nd faith , and upon baptism,
gave me the gift of bis holy spirit.
The personal
living
Word of God
taught his original apostles be tween
A.D. 27 and 3 1. So, in like manner,
he taught me through the
wrilten
Word of God. beg inning in A.D.
1927. As the origi nal apost1es were
sent out to procla im Christ's gospel
in A.D. 3 1,

was ordained and sent
to proclaim the same gospel in A.D.
1931.
It was througb me that, in August
1933, Christ raised up the parent
churcb of this present " Phil adelphia
era" (Rev. 3:7-13) in Eugene, Ore–
gon, U.S.A. ; a nd on January 7,
1934, tbe gospe l of the kingdom
started going o ut over radio; o n
February 1, 1934, the
Plain Truth
began publication.
"The Work" was once again , after
18'h centuries, UNDER WAY! The
proclaiming of the kingdom of God
is
" the Work." By whatever means
- whether in person, or by radio. o r
by television, or in prin t.
But the broadcast. wbe ther by ra–
dio or by TV. of itself is NOT "the
Work."
It
is an instrumentality
used
in " the Wo rk." The
Plain Truth,
in
itself, is
NOT
" the Work."

is an–
other instrumentality
used
in "the
Work .' '
Ambassador College is not "the
Work." Il is an instrumentali ty used
in " the Work " to train personnel fo r
pos itions in "the Work." The an–
nounci ng of the good news of the
coming kingdom of God
by what–
ever means or media is
" the Work."
We are commissioned to take the
message
"inro al/ the world."
The Small Beginning
But 1 could not go to ALL THE
WORLD alone, or a t the bcginning.
Just as t he original apostles needed
help and the insp ira tional backing
of the church, so did
l.
The parent
church of this era started wit h sorne
19 members. but God ADDED to the
church those he was
specially
call ing
fo r thi s grea t commissio n. The
C hurch grew, as "the Work" grew
into many tho usands. as it is today.
We are ALL
specially
caLled ou t of
sin. as it were. BEFORE t he time
when God sets out

CONVERT THE
WORLD, for the purpose of support–
ing and backing up "the Work" with
our fervent, preva iJing PRAYERS, o ur
tithes and specia l otferings. our in–
fluence. encouragement and back–
ing in whatever way.
And God has g ive n us "the
WORK" todo as the VERY MEANS BY
PLAIN TRUTH
