rwec:n rhis very special and personal
fellowship made possible for man
wirh God, and rhe incredible GULF
between rhe inrellecrual capaciries of
human mind and animal brain.
Righr here is a crurh rhar oughr
ro
ASTOUND rhe reader, and cause him
impulsively
ro
almosr SHOUT for joy.
God creared each animal after irs
own animal kind. Bur He creared
MAN afrer Goo's OWN kind - ro
have fellowship with God, ro become
SONS of God.
Goo is rhe supreme intelligence
rhat is rhe architecr of rhe universe.
The mind of God designed all we see
in narure. H is mind designed the
marvelous human body with irs vari–
ous sysrems. He designed rhe brain -
both animal and human brain. Bur
He equipped animal brain wich an in–
srincr absenr in human brain. On rhe
orher hand His purpose, in making
MAN after His own likeness -
to
bave fellowship wirh God - ro be–
come sons of God - demanded
MlND POWER in man parrerned afrer
God's own mind.
Bur HOW did God do rhar) He
made man of marrer from rhe
ground. Goo is a Spirit. Man's poten–
cial is
to
become
spirir, as God now is.
So God added a nonphysical compo–
nenr
to
hwnan brain ro imparr the
power of !nrellect. He gave man a
mind, even as Goo has mind. But
man's mind muse funcóon rbrough
physical brain. And iris rherefore evi–
dent that, during chis human life,
man's mind does nor reach rhat all–
encompassing perfecrion of rhe mind
of God. And
it
is LIMITED. Even now ,
man's mind NEEDS an addirional m–
gredienr, as will be made clear.
Why the lncredible GULF?
Early in my inrensive srudy of rhe
evolurion vs. special crearion gues–
rion, 1 Jearned whar man /S.' Bur
I
had not researched deeply rhe gues–
rion of che difference berween animal
brain and human mind until
eady
in
rhe decade of the sixries. And rhen, ar
lasr,
I
found plainly revealed whar
causes rhis trcmendous differencc.
44
I
didn'r know ir rhen, but a schol–
arly minded young studenr was also
delvi ng inro chis same quesrion in
eastern univcrsiries _i.n rhe Unired
Scares. He was pursuing rhe subjecr,
nor in rhe Bible, bur in rhc physi–
ologicaJ science of brain research. He
had srudied ar Ncw York Universiry,
University of Rochesrer, Johns Hop–
kins Medica] School, Yeshiva Univer–
siry, receiving bis A.B. from Johns
Hopkins Universiry, and his Ph.D.
from rhe Universiry of Cali fornia ar
Los Angeles. He has conducred re–
search programs in molecular biology
and cerebral correx elecrrophysiology.
Whar a coincidence rhat we both
came ro rhe same answer - he from
research in physical science, and
I
from research in rcvcaled knowledge.
And what a furrher coincidence rhar
we wcre broughr togcrhcr. He is Dr.
Robert Kuhn, now on rhe faculry of
Ambassador College, Pasadena.
Beginning with rhe January num–
ber,
The
PLAJN TRUTH has been pub–
lishing Dr. Kuhn's remarkablc series
of anides on rhis very viral quesrion.
So now 1 present rhe Bíblica) reve–
larion on rhe subjecr.
These things we need ro know:
1)
Why is rhe human mind,
awesomely grcar in abiliries and ac–
complishmenrs, unable ro solve irs
own problems -
to
live ar pcace, and
in universal happiness and well–
being?
2)
Why are man's intcllectual pow–
ers so grear by comparison when the
an imal brain is virmally the equal o f
human brain borh guanrirarively and
guali rarively?
3)
And mosr irnporranr,
WHAT
is
rhe soluóon ro man 's problerns -
HOW
shall we come ro \\'lORLD PEACE
before human extincrion occurs?
The Bible shows clearly WHY rhis
world is fi lled with cvi ls of every son.
Norice Jeremiab 17:9: "The hearr [of
man} is deceirful above all rhings,
and desperarely wicked." And again,
Romans 8:7: ",,,che
carnal
mind is
enmiry (hosrile} againsr God: for iris
nor subjecr ro the law of God, neirher
indeed can be."
Human narure is well filled wirh
evi l.
Bur \\'lHY? Did God -
lF
we are ro
bclieve in an all-wise Crearor - creare
an EVIL heart in man? Did God creare
man so rhar he could produce such
marvels as he does, bur ar rhe sarne
time be imporent and helpless before
his problems '
Did God creare rhe deceirful and
wicked heart in man? Did God put
hosrílity in man's mind againsr his
Maker? And if not, HOW DJD MAN
COME TO
BE
AS HE IS?
Firsr, ler us consider what
cause.f
rhc vasr supcrioriry of man's menral
powers in comparison wirh anirnals.
Everyrhing is a marter of cause and
effecr. 1f man, wi rh a brain so nearly
like
rhe brains of animals, has infi–
nitely grearer MIND power rhar can–
nor be accounred for by eirher rhe
size or qualiry of rhe physiological
brain - as Dr. Kuhn's anides have
so clearly dernonstrated - \XIIIAT
CAUSES
rr?
Dr. Kuhn dcmonscrares scien–
riflcally rhar rhcre is, of necessiry,
sorne nonphysical cornponenr in rhe
human brain rhar is nor present in rhe
animal brain.
J
found rhe same rhing
rei/Ca/ed
be–
fore
I
ever heard of Dr. Kuhn.
lnJob 32:8,
I
had read: "But rhcre
is a spirir in man: and rhe inspirarion
of rhe Almighry giverh rhem under–
sranding."
Norice ir carefully. The inspiracion
of God gives - impares ro man -
UNDERSTANDING. But how? By what
means? The rneans is conrained in
rhar sarne verse: "There is a spirir in
man ' ' And spirir is nonphysical. No–
rice carefully, this spi ri t is
IN
man. lt
is nor rhe man, bur somerhing rhar is
IN
man.
And what is rnan? Of whar is he
composed? The man is composed of
matter,
nor spirit!
