367,583 naaea was added to the Work's aailing list--an average of 17,500 per
working day.
The major reason for this increase ia the ezcellent response froa our direct
aail offer of •The Plain Truth.• Thia summer, Publishing services sent out
3.5 aillion letters offering ·Tbe Plain Truth• to people on purchased aailing
lists and to PT readers who had let their subscriptions ezpire in 1985.
The previous monthly recocd for increase of people on our aailillg list was
227,636 in llay of 1984. AD u.ausually large naaber of PT gift subscription
cards were processed that month.

since January 1984:
