PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, JANUARY 27, 1984
This surpassed the previous record by 2,269 and was more than double the
average weekend response!
During the peak period of response when 46
stations were airing the program, 95 WATS operators answered 2,140 calls
in just one hour.
The previous record was set November 13, 1983 when "Revelation: End-time
Prophecies" received 11,604 calls for the weekend.
Undoubtedly the growing fears many have of a nuclear holocaust cause them
to sit up and take notice when Mr. Armstrong expounds the prophecies of the
great tribulation and wonderful world tomorrow.
Many callers comment on Mr. Armstrong's powerful delivery and express great
interest in the program. They are especially appreciative of the fact that
the message comes straight from the Scriptures, as the following comments
show:
I loved the program! He was talking about Revelation and reading
the Bible and had the verses on the screen--I've never heard of a
preacher doing that. I really got interested.
E.A. (Washington, D.C.)
The program was dynamic!
It was very good that Mr. Armstrong
quoted from so many scriptures. Most programs give you only one
or two scriptures and their personal opinions--whereas Mr.
Armstrong keeps going back to the Bible with quotes--it's very
enjoyable!
J.S. (Cincinnati, OH)
I just love hearing Mr. Armstrong and watch him every Sunday.
I'm blind but have my sister read to me. I'm concerned about the
second coming.
Mr. Armstrong explained it from Daniel and
Revelation. He puts things from the Bible all together.
C.H. (Bryan, TX)
I like the grasp that he has of the Bible--he has a chapter and
verse for everything he said. I sure hope he's wrong, and that we
can find a way out of this.
E.N. (Florida)
He tells the truth and he reads it from the Bible. He doesn't
have a bunch of choirs and doesn't ask you to send him money. I
just like him.

Highest Year Ever for Television Response
"The WORLD TOMORROW" telecast brought in 502,848 phone calls and letters in
1983--another new record.
Phone calls accounted for more than three
fourths of the total response. The highest previous year was 1975, when
454,291 letters and calls were received.
Record Income for Semiannual Letter
We are pleased to report that the November 1983 semiannual letter set a new
all-time record for income from semiannual letters. The letter also drew
