PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, June 13, 1980
Page 15
I want to say that the tapes we have been hearing are wonderful. You
sound like the Mr. Armstrong that I first heard many years ago.
--Mrs. Elizabeth J. (Sacramento, KY)
Thank you for sending the tapes. It was great to hear your voice so
strong. It sounded as powerful as it was ten years or so ago. I do
pray you will be able to send more tapes.
--Mr. & Mrs. Frank V. (Contonment, FL)
Concerned About Frightening End-time Events
I'm so disturbed about the situation of our world conditions. It
causes me to tremble every time I see the news. I do believe there
won't be any peace on this earth until Christ comes back.
--Mrs. Margie F. (Kinston, AL)
Events today are happening so fast that when we get a hint of what is
going to be, it is here. It seems to me we are in the place today
where it was thought the world would be in "72." Schools in bad
shape, businesses going broke. The farm situation. World crises
heading for war. Rebellion. Anarchy. People are so fed up they are
going to do what they want anyway.
--Mrs. Carl G. (Morland, KS)
We can certainly see world events speeding up. Time is certainly at
a premium now. Everywhere there seems to be turmoil and frustration.
God's Kingdom is certainly needed for all mankind.
--Mr. & Mrs. Robert W. (Crete, IL)
Conditions in many areas seem to worsen weekly. Now in yesterday's
paper, an A.P. article said, "U.S. Near Bankruptcy." Everyone seems
to want to spend themselves happy or take advantage of the so-called
good life. They have lost confidence in saving, realizing they are
losing the value of anything that is saved. If we (the American
people) would only repent and follow God's ways.
--Carle R. (Duncannon, PA)
When we see all the things going on in the world at this time we can
really be thankful that the TRUTH is easier to understand than all
this nonsense that people call "Christian."
--Revah P. (New Iberia, LA)
ON THE WORLD SCENE
THE STARK REALITY OF EUROPE'S DEFENSELESSNESS BEGINS TO SINK HOME: The
fissure between Western Europe (and Japan) and Washington is growing wider
with each passing month.
Britain has defected from a united (albeit weakened) European stand on the
Iran boycott issue. Only West Germany has held fast on President Carter's
appeal for an Olympic Games boycott. Right after French Foreign Minister
Francois-Poncet lectured U.S. Secretary of State Muskie on the virtues of
