It
was an article writ–
ten with grace and understanding.
Keep up the good work!

The article in the October-Novem–
ber,
1980,
Plain Truth,
"To Heal a
Nation," has affected me deeply.
I aman American citizen. 1 am not
black, and so far as
I
know my
ancestors were never enslaved, but we
have been far from wealtby;
1
have
never lived outside the county wbere
l
was born.
Your description of Haití and its
people helps me to real.ize how much
1
have and how seldom it occurs to
me to really appreciate it. Oh,
I
am
grateful, and
1
thank God sometimes
just for the roof over my bead and a
bed to sleep in, but not often
enough!
Thank you for tbe perceptive arti–
cle. Thank you for reminding me of
bow busy we will be when the King–
dom finally comes. Thank you for
helping me to reinforce my commit–
ment to God and His Kingdom.
1
want very much to help heal a

have been recetvmg
The Plain
Truth
for over ayear now, and
I
am
very pleased with the articles that
you write. Furthermore,
I
truly
believe every word.
Your recent article on inOation has
inspired me to give one tenth of my
weekly salary to God. Please distrib–
ute it where you think it will do the
most good.
r
look forward to reading
more of your stimulating writings.

feel that
The Plain Truth

brought me closer to God.

The article in the June-July issue
"Despite lnflation-You Can Solve
Your Financia! Worries" revealed to
me how God' s law regulates our
income. As your article correctly
pointed out,
1
toowas among those wbo
didn't know that what you earn is not
yours, but God's. 1 now earnestly ask
that you accept my enclosed check as
my tithe to God. Because J'm a full–
time college student, the income
1
earn
is derived from working only during
the summer vacation months. So what–
ever
1
earn,
1
will gladly give God His
rightful 1O percent and use the
January
1981
remainder to sustain myself the rest of
the year.

Just read your article of "You Can
Solve Your Financia! Worries De–
spite Inflation" in the June-July,
1980,
issue of
The Plain Truth .
You're right about giving God's one
tenth.
1
haven't been doing so for so
many years and everything is going
wróng, but
1
do remember being hap–
pier and healthier back in those days
when
1
was giving to God!
My check is enclosed for my
tithes. May God bless the use of this
money to reacb someone with His
word!

1
have just started reading your publi–
cations during the past few months, my
father introduced meto them.
The articles on the tithes was very
mind opening.
It
has come at a very
trying time in my life, and
1
hope
that by obtaining a better under–
standing of God and His Church and
by paying God's money back,
1
receive the guidance
1
need to under–
stand what is happening to me and
my family .
Enclosed please find a cheque to
start paying my tithes. Thank you for
making it possible for this insight.

Women's Movement
My boss would not insulta man by
offering what he pays me to manage
this entire office. Also, if all women
were paid a decent salary
(I
realize
sorne
are) we could possibly do away
with the child support system in this
country- which is barely working
anyway.
Caro! McCue

Your article in the August issue on
the women's movement was excel–
lent. Your comment that "no one
really knows what impact the ERA
would have on families and individu–
als until the courts start interpreting
it
in specific cases (were it passed)"
was a most profound statement.
Jerry Shuster

Regarding the article on "The
Women's Movement": Women
should receive equal pay for equal
work and have an equal opportunity
to enter the professions. Women
should not be treated as sexual
playthings to be discarded after use.
But the line must be drawn when
women contend they should have the
right to kili tbeir unborn babies.
Your September article on_ abor–
tion. rightly describes the U.S. Su–
preme Court's
1973
Roe v. Wade
decision that legalized abortion on
demandas "legally wrong." One pop–
ular argument favoring the ruling is
that "we cannot legislate morality."
Yet that ruling in effect imposed the
moral views of proabortionists on
those wbo think abortion is the kill–
ing of unborn babies.
True, antiabortion laws legislate
morality, but only in the same sense
that we legislate moral.ity when we
outlaw incest, rape, child prostitu–
tion, :Stealing, extortion and murder.
When we make these activities ille–
gal, we "impose moral, ethical and
religious values" on those who find
nothing wrong with these acts.

Thank You from Uganda
1
was real gratified to receive, once
again, my copy of
The Plain Truth.
Please thank you.
To us in Uganda, who had been
denied the privilege of receiving and
reading informative magazines like
The Plain Truth
by the authorities,
the copy you have just sent, shows
that the Almighty God !oves our
country.
We pray that the freedom recently
granted, persists, so that we continue
to receive
The Plain Truth,
Jet alone
tranquility, development and social
and economic progress of our coun–
try. Again, thank you.

wanted to write, although be–
latedly, to compliment Donald
Schroeder on the article on Sodom
and Gomorrah.
The fundamental point of the arti–
cle was very powerful-"If they had
gone on, it would have been improba–
ble they could ever achieve God's
great purpose for them in a future
resurrection." As a Church member,
1
feel that this is the kind of work
which seis
The Plain Truth
apart.
