Many are asking: Where are the
real LEADERS of the future going to come from ?

from one crisis to
another ?
Don' t th is world's ed ucators
know t he causes of today's bur–
geoning problems? Isn' t it t ime
our futu re leade rs werc taught
the answers?
Causes Are Spiritual
Many wor ld leaders and educators
recogni ze that the solut ions to man's
problems do not Iie in the scienti fic
or technological sphere, but are spir–
itual in nature. Yet they seem pow–
er less to implement this unders tand–
ing.
As far back as the end of World
War
ll
in the Pacific,
U.S.
General
Doug las McAr thur forcefully out–
lined the utter fu ti lity of a techno–
logicaJ or mil itary solu tion to our
problems. Notice his insight even
in 1945:
" The utter destructiveness of
war now blots out this alternative.
We have had our las t chance.
If
we
will not devise sorne greater and
more equi table system, Armaged–
don wi ll be at the door.
"T he problem is basically theo–
logical a nd involves a spirit ua l
recrudescence and improvemen t of
human c haracter that will synchro–
nize with our almost
matc hless advances
in science, ar t, li terat ure, and all
material and cul tu ral developments
of the past
2,000
years. I t mus t be
of the spi r it if we are to save the
ftesh."
Bu t are the leaders of tomorrow
being given by today's educat ional
systems the fundamental spi ri tual
insights needed to aver t cosmo–
c ide? Do they cven know the mean–
ing of "spir itual insight" ?
