Nimrod the Mighty Hunter

Dear Brethren,
Its is sometimes shocking while growing up in our world and having been educated in a system that has already been laid out for us by parents, religion, school teachers, and in the higher levels of education, to discover the origins of most of our cherished beliefs go all the way back for the most part to the ancient world of Nimrod and his mother wife Semiramis.
While searching the internet with the subject of Nimrod in mind, I made a discovery that made a connection to a question that has long puzzled and perplexed me in view of the medical profession and my belief in Jesus Christ as My Healer.
To lead into the answer to this troubling question it is necessary to go back a short time after the death of Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong.
Divine Healing and Physical Sin
There was a booklet written and co-authored by Mr. Joseph Tkach and Mr. Bernie Schnippert that basically nullified the booklet written by Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong, both booklets on the subject of “The Plain Truth about Healing.”
Sometime later articles were also written by Dr. Donald Ward and Mr. Bill Bradford that expressed their own belief on the subject that substantiated what had been written in their booklet: there is no such thing a physical sin!
To pave the way for this new teaching, Mr. Tkach stated to the Church that Mr. Armstrong had told him prior to his death there was something he had missed in his booklet, The Plain Truth about Healing, 1979 Publication, and he was asked to find and correct it.
Mr. Tkach then said he had found the problem: “It was Physical Sin! There is no such thing as Physical Sin!”

The GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE, we now have the years from 1951 through all of 1986 available on our site.
We now have a more complete set of Audio Books. These are audio files of many of our Books and booklets. Now you can listen to these excellent study resources in the background.

God is no meaningless word or abstract "First Cause." He is a real Being with a magnificent personality!
If I were to ask you whether you know God, what would be your answer? Probably, yes.
Suppose I asked you a second question: Do you know God well? Then what would your answer be?
Jesus Christ, praying to God the Father, said: "Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:1-3).
Did you grasp that? Knowing God is of supreme importance. It is life eternal!
That's the purpose of this article — to offer some specific steps all of us can take to get to know God, and get to know Him well.

Topical Index “Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.” How true this seems to me. This Topical Index is not finished and cannot be. It is simply an effort to list basic related scriptures under subject headings to assist in bible study and in answering questions. It has been compiled with input from many individuals but it has inherent limitations. There is simply no right or complete set of scriptures except the Bible itself. Also, different people take into account different things. This is a start though and I hope a profitable one to you.- Mark Mickelson (December 2002)

We have added a new Scripture search tool that is powered at this site. The Scripture Search Tool can be accessed from the left margin of any page. You will be able to look up word or phrases in the King James Bible along with the String’s meanings of the Hebrew or Greek.
Use our new Online Bible Hymnal to sing along with us during the Live Sabbath services or Feast Day Broadcasts.
We now have a Daily Bible Reading resource for your Bible Studies. Each month we will post links to each day’s bible reading. It will be completed in one year.
We now have available from our site a series of 7 Bible Classes recorded at Ambassador College. These are mp3 format. These class tapes are a range of subjects from the major and minor prophets, the acts of the Apostles, A study of the Ancient Culture of Israel, Church History and the Psalms and Proverbs.
We have archived the list of difficult scriptures developed at Ambassador College to prepare you to give answer to the faith that lies within you. 1Pe 3:15 . The link above will take you to the completed list for a quick answer to some of the puzzling questions that arise from time to time.
Here is a link to the Fundamental Doctrines of the Church. This listing of scriptures relating to each of our primary doctrines was composed by ministers of the Worldwide Church of God approximately 1984 or before and was used in the Graduate Spokesman's Club in the Chicago area and is presented here unchanged. While this listing is very detailed, it is not an exhaustive listing of the doctrines of The Church of God.

How to Understand the Bible
THE ADVANCE news of tomorrow's world is good news!
This news is reported, before it happens, in the Bible. An entire third of all the Bible is devoted to foretelling world events. Why doesn't the world know about it?
The main course of history, up to now, was written before it occurred. What has happened to Egypt, Italy, Greece, ancient Babylon, Persia, modern Britain, America, Russia, was all written 2,000 or more years ago.
What is now going to happen to the leading nations of the world in the next five to 20 years is also written in this same awe-inspiring Book—and is just as certain to happen. The Bible contains history, prophecy, wisdom, spiritual knowledge and truth. If you want the most necessary, basic knowledge of all life—the very foundation of all right knowledge—where would you go? No book ever written, except the Holy Bible, reveals this foundation of all knowledge. It explains what we are, whether we were put here on earth for a purpose and what that purpose is.
Would a Creator—with the supreme intelligence and wisdom and love to have thought out, planned, designed, and brought about, all creation—have left his created beings in ignorance of his purpose?
The Bible is God's divine revelation of basic needed knowledge that mankind is not capable otherwise of finding out. It is the starting point.
No tools or instruments of science can tell you whether you have a soul, whether you are a soul, whether there is life after death, what the purpose is for being alive, where you are going, or the way to a happy, abundant life and universal peace.
Our scientists—our world leaders and statesmen—have failed utterly to tell us these answers or to lead us into the universally desired peace and happiness.
