succeed."
Mr. Robert Fahey, director of
the African Work who was present
for the occasion, remarked: "Mr.
Armstrong may be 85 years old, but
his voice was as strong and full
as ever. The message was crystal
clear."
Transkei Parliament
One week later, Mr. Armstrong ad–
dressed the parliament of the nation
of the Transkei , which gained its in–
dependence from South Africa last
October 26. About 250 parlia–
mentarians gathered in Umtata, the
capital city. to hear him. The format
was similar to that in Namibia, with
Mr. Rader prefacing Mr. Arm–
strong's address with an overview of
his travels and the organization that
sponsors his mission. Mr. Armstrong
spoke for about 25 minutes.
The two extraordinary speaking
engagements were highlights of a
three-week speaking tour of south–
ern Africa from March 10 to April
4. Setting a hectíc pace, Mr. Arm–
strong met with numerous govern–
ment leaders and spoke over a
dozen times at banquets and meet–
ings in the nations of South Africa,
Namíbia, the Transkei, and Swazi–
land. Among the leaders he met
were Dr. Nícolaas Díederichs, presi–
dent of South Africa. on March 15,
leaders of the South African Parlia–

Matanzima and the cabinet of
