The Affianced
Bride
Here is another vital REASON for the
institution of MARRIAGE in the ·human
family.
lt is
to teach us - to constantly
remind us - of our sacred relationship
to Jesus Christ!
Here is the vital teaching:
"Wives, submit youtselves unto your
own husbands;
as
unto the Lord. For the
husband ís the head of the wife, even
as
Cbrist is the head of the cbutch: and he
is tbe saviour of the body. Therefore as
· the cburch is subject unto Christ,
so
let
the wives be to tbeir own busbands in
everything.
"IJusbands. love your wives, even as
Christ also loved tbe church, and gave
bimself for it; that he
mi~ht
sanctify and
· c)eanse it with the washmg of water by
the word. ..." (The Word, if obeyed,
washes away etror.) "That be migbt
preseot
it
to himself a glorious church
(GLORlFIED - DEII'lEO), nOt having spot,
or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it
should be holy and without blemish. So
ought men to love· their wives as thcir
own bodies. . .. For we are members of
his body,
of
bis
flesh, and of
bis
bones.
For fhis cause
sball a man .Jeave bis
father and mother, and shaU be joined
unto bis wife, and they two shaU be one
flesh.
"This is a great mystery: but
f
speak
concerning Christ and the cburch"
(Eph.
5:23-32).
