REPENTING
of that
which has been producing unhappi–

tremendous
BARGAIN!
That is the
fruit of God's Spirit that will
spontaneously spring forth from
you.
RADIATE
from you and cause
you to be a
JOY
to others. as well as
to yourself.
Now this is not to say that there
are never trou bies in the Christian
life. Far from it. There wi ll be
PER–
SECUTIONS.
J esus Christ was per–
secuted. He said. "If they have
persecuted me. they will persecute
you." That comes from
WITHOUT.
But
UNHAPPINESS
is something that
springs from
wiTHIN.
Happiness is a
$TATE Of MINO -
happiness is
W ITHIN.
And the person who does
have this inward peace - this joy.
this patience and !ove. and absence
of resentment and bitterness- isn't
going to be anywhere near as dis–
turbed and unhappy as when he
didn't have them. You'll a lways face
problems - but you ' ll have
FAITH,
and God's help in solving them. But
problems and tests of faith are good
for us - the very building blocks of
perfect spi ritual character.
I'know that the Bible says:
"Many
are the afHictions of the righteous,"
but the same scripture adds, "but
the Eterna) delivereth him out of
them all" (Psalm 34:
19).
It's true Jesus was "a man of sor–
rows. and acquainted with grief."
It's true He
SUFFERED -
He knew
what suffering is. But His suffering
and grief was not caused by pain
others inf:licted on Him - not from
resentment, or being hurt by others
- but by His
!ove
for others. He suf–
fered because they were bringing so
much suffering on themselves. But
he also was a man of boundless
JOY.
and He said. "My
JOY

you."
Yes, He said, " J am come that
they might have

and that they
might have it more

(John
10: 10).

In the July issue of

the uncommon knowledge about the com–

taken two aspirin tablets. four times a day
for the past eleven years.

take two tablets
(ten grains) after each meal. and at bed
time.

always take a snack at bed time, be–
fore taking the aspirin. Never take aspirin
on an empty stomach, and no one will have
the symptoms described in the article
printed in your magazine.

Correct. Food helps protect the stomach
lining. But aspirin is not a harm/ess drug.
Leading medica/ authorities such as Drs.
Rene Menguy, Professor of Surgery al the
University of Chicago. and Vernon M.
Smith, Professor of Medicine at the Univer–
sity of Maryland, think aspirin should only
be given by prescription.
Aspirin has a corrosive effect 011 the
mucous membranes of the stomach. Gas–
troilltestinal hemorrhagi11g (b/eeding of the
stomach and intestine) is an unfortu!lately
common occurrence with the use of aspirin.
Research revea/s that occult (hidde11 from

Aspirin can enhance the u/ceration and
bleeding i11 pepfic u/cer patiems. fts use can
be dangerous in late pregnancy. Aspirin may
interfere with the clotting of blood. /ength–
ening bleeding time afier a cut or other acci–
dent and can eve11 cause asthma attacks in
asthma patients. lt is by .far the leading cause
ofaccidental poisoning cases ofyoung chil–
dren in the home
(Consumer Bulletin An–
nual,
1972.
pp.
175-176).
A number of medica/ authorilies advise
that harmful side effects from excessive aspi–
rin ingestion occur whether or not a person 's
stomach is empty. How much aspirin an indi–
vidual can ingest before that amount can be
termed excessive depends on the individual.
Sorne few perso11s are highly sensitive to as–
pirin. One or two tablets may be too much for
them.
Four Horsemen of Apocalypse
Your article on ' 'The Four Horsemen of
the Apocalypse" by Paul Kroll in the Janu–
ary issue was intriguing. But may
J
call at–
tention to an obvious oversight? An angel
did not tear off the seals from the scroll
mentioned in the book of Revelation.
Christ did.

You're right. Christ opened the seals that
covered the scro/1. The wording was corrected
during printing for many of our readers.
What You Can Do
Your article about shellfish interested me

never to eat them again and had refused
them.

whether .we should not be vegetarians.
Sorne people for religious reasons do not
eat meat.
