immoral people of the world, or with the COVETOUS, or EXTORTIONERS,
or IDOLATORS, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I
have written to you NOT to keep company with anyone named a brother,

Commandment, the LORD God sums up the complete
meaning of COVETING, by saying:
“You shall not covet . . . anything that is your
neighbor’s.”
Exodus 20:17
In this world’s society a person’s success is
measured by whatever he or she has been able to
accumulate in life. However Jesus Christ does not
agree with that standard for success:
Luke 12:15 And He said to them, “Take heed
and beware of COVETOUSNESS, for one’s
life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Too often the accumulation of wealth is looked upon by others with covetous thoughts
that can lead to theft, robbery, or murder. The Apostle Paul warns against keeping this
kind of company:
I Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will NOT
inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, or
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves,
NOR COVETOUS, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor EXTORTIONERS will
inherit the Kingdom of God.”
