support over the past months that have been so trying for us all. Mr.

with your actions. Thank you for all the hard work and for being patient

A REMINDER TO ALL PASTO?-S ABOUT THE "MEMBER'S HOTLINE"
On March 19 of this year, the first issue of the "Worldwide Church of God
NEWS SUM.MARY" was sent along with the Pctstor' s Report--both of which have
since been renarn<2d li't2f.'1BER' S HOTLINE" and "PASTOR GENERAL
7
S REPOR'r" re-·
spectively.
The original ins tn1ctions for the "NEWS SUMMARY/f.'lEMBER
1
S HOTLINE" called
for each Church Pastor to duplicate enough copies locally for di.stribution
to all hads of households in their congregations on the following Sabbath.
3ubsequem:.ly, we have learned that not al1 congregations around the world
have been receiving copies of the MEMBER'S HOTLINE.
The fol :;_owing statement regarding the purpose of the MEMBER
1
S HOTLINE
appeared in the J\Ane 25th PASTOR'S REPORT:
"Actually, the MEMBER

is a surn.mcry c,f special late-breaking news in God's Work which wculd.

Thus this publication, intended to be made available to heads of house- -
holds in God's Church, allows our ministers more time for t.heirsermons.
Primarily; this putlication has contained news updates concerning various

s attack on God's Church. However,
often oher hurch and College news from the Pastor's Report, which should

!·1r. Armst::.·ong is very concerned that the brethren be informed about develop
ments L,, the 'iork of God as soon as possible. 'I'he MEMBER'S HOTLINE is a
mea;-1s cf i.lccomplishing this end. As you have probably noticed already,
this week's issue of the MEf.'1
.BER'S HOTLINE contains the entire t:ext of Mr.
Arstrng's special PASTOR'S REPORT letter dated August 2nd.
As criginally suggested in the March 19 PASTOR'S REPORT, "a small do!lation
or a dolar or so per person per year in each local area would take care
of all raper and duplicating costs in each church." A number cf those
pastors who have requested such donations have reported receiving enthusi
asic responses from the brethren--both monetarily for the HOTLINE'S repro
duction costs, and for the news it provides them every week!
(One resource
fl pas
t
.Gr reported chat he was able to purchase a relatively inexpensive
1::sed copier machine which nrnv reproduces all the church's announcements,
etc., in addition t the HOTLINE.)
Those pastors who have any questions regarding the MEMBER'S HOTLINE, or
who have encountered special difficulties in its distribution, should write
or call Mr. Joseph Tkach of Ministerial Services.
