CORRECTION
In the last PGR (February 20) a typographical error
was made in Mr. Richard Rice's contribution titled,
"Excellent Telephone Response To First New World
Tomorrow Telecast." In the first reason given for
the remarkable impact of the program, "10,000 calls"
should have read 1,000 calls. Our apologies to Mr.
Rice and our readers for this oversight.

"TRAVELLING POPE" TOURS ASIA
Pope John Paul II has just completed his
ninth trip outside Italy in his first 28 months in office. This time the
focus was Asia, where his 12-day, 20,500-mile odyssey took him to primarily
the Philippines, Guam and Japan with mass-celebrating stopovers en route
in Karachi, Pakistan and Anchorage, Alaska.
The biggest welcome of all was in the Philippines, where 40 million of 48
million Filipinos claim church membership. Significantly, the Pope ar­
rived just days after God's Apostle had completed a highly successful
series of meetings, forcefully proclaiming everywhere the true Gospel.
In the Philippines, the Pontiff ventured into the politics of this world,
walking his usual tightrope. He lectured President Marcos--who recently
lifted martial law--on the need to preserve "the fundamental dignity of
the human person" and the ''basic rights" protecting such dignity "even in
