NEEDED, if their lives were to be
successful , complete!y satisfying.

would want to look, search–
ingly, into the REASONS behind
the thousands of FAILURES in life
by college graduates- and why
even
most
who do achieve moder–
ate or even ric h fi nanc ia! st atus

find their lives UNHAPPY, far
short of the completcly
gratify–
ing.
rewarding sense of satisfac–
tion they had anticipated before
entering college.

OF COLLEG E GRADUATES MAKE
FAILURES IN MARRIAGE- fa ilures
in child rearing as pa rents.

many, whose
minds
have been
trained and filled with technical
knowledge in specialized fields,
st ill are emotionall y immature,
moraJiy a nd spiri t ual ly mixed up
and confused, s till plagued with a
feeling of inadequacy, uncertain–
ty, infe riority, insecurity-even
frustration.

IT that thcse millions,
who spent four , six or more years
in " higher education," find they
failed to obtain at college?
It
is,
plainly a nd s imply, that
they were not given the
m ost
importan/
knowledge and experi–
ence needed for a balanced, well –
rounded , happy,
abundant
li fe
that is
real/y
successfu l!

have lived an active, dynamic,
much-traveled, fas t-movi ng life.
And today
1
look back, with deep
and very grati fying satisfaction,
on a life of accomplishment that
has been full , abundant , interes t–
ing, even exciting, but always
rewarding. Of course there have
been problems to solve, obstacles
to hurdle. There have been , too,
disappointments and setbacks, for
those come to every life. They are
the training ground of character.
But

have come in contact
with numerous men supposedly
"successful " by ge ne ra lly ac–
cepted s t a nd a rd s- m e n who
headed great and vast enterprises,
men whose bank accounts were
full , but their lives
empty!
1
have known scores of multi–
millionaires- nearly all of them
unhappy! Most certa inly
1
do not
consider poverty a criterion of
success, but a fter knowing so
ma ny hundred s who became
fi nancially affiuent , neithe r do
J
cons ider acquisition of MONEY a
proof of success. There is
m ore
to
life than earning a living , though
th a t is
one
o f the necessary
requirements.
And

have known wives of
f in a nc ia ll y "succ ess ful " hu s–
ba nds-car ee r womc n- some
who reached the top of the social
ladder. They, too, were unhappy,
discontented.
When

was sent
throughout the United S tates as
the "idea man" of a national mag–
azine- int e rvi ewi ng bu s in ess–
meo , s tudy ing, anaJyzi ng mer–
chandising and genera l business
conditions, learning why one ma n
makes a success, another a fail–
ure, in the management of his
business.
