There is only one final answer to the question, How did life originate?

November 24, 1859,
Charles Darwin pub–
lished his
Origin of
Species.
The book
by
this
self-effacing Briton suc–
ceeded in turning the world
upside down.
Creation
became an out–
moded word. The chic, new con–
cept was now
evolution.
Of course, the idea did not orig–
inate with Darwin. But the clamor
over
Origin of Species
galvanized
those
in
support of evolution.
The Darwin Syndrome
Sorne years ago, American science
writer Ruth Moore succinctly sum–
marized the explosive power of
Darwin 's theory. S he wrote:
"When he started his career, the
doctrine of special creation could
be doubted only by heretics. When
he finished, the fact of evolution
could be denied only by an aban–
donment of reason"
(Evolution,
New York: Time, Inc., 1964,
p.
10).
This revolutionary idea- that all
living things were the product of
unguided evolutionary develop–
ment-ignited a war between cre–
ationists and scientists.
It
continues
to rage today, particularly in the
United States.
How did allliving things, includ–
ing human life, really come into ::
existence? Oíd a Supreme Being
