The Statue of Liberty, symbol of American hopes and dreams, has
undergone extensive interna! restoration to avoid what would have been
her eventual collapse. What does this symbolize for America?
Peter B. Kaplan has compiled more than 70,000 images of the Statue,
more than any other photographer. In 1982 he was awarded the title of
Preferred Statue of Liberty Photographer by the Statue of Liberty/EIIis
Island Foundation.
