“. . . In order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. Gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men” (Daniel 4:17).

Dear Brethren,

There seems to be no question but that end-time prophecy will be fulfilled in this coming election!

Over the past few years it has been thought that the presidential election in this country would be a strong indicator of where we are in time in respect to the end-time prophecies that would affect the Church of God and the House of Israel – all of which would lead to Armageddon and the return of Jesus Christ back to this earth..

To use an example: While pastoring the Church area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Herman Hoeh gave a sermon in 1987 in which he stated we, meaning the Church of God, could probably tell where we were in time by the next election.

It was his feeling at that time we were very close to the end; and we could possibly know by who might be elected into the office of the President of the United States in the coming year.

We came to realize the one who was elected was not the real indicator of the end-time as was believed it might be.

The years were not right; but the thought was a correct one.

God’s Time Frame

This was due to the fact that none of the past years fitted the time frame of God. However this one has all the ear-marks of being the right one as can be witnessed by society around us, and the candidates -- each one trying to garner enough votes to govern them in that high office not realizing their votes would only serve the purpose of Jesus Christ.

God Rules in the Kingdom of Men

The major factor to remember in any election is that it is God in heaven above who is the One who gives the governments of this world its primary leaders (Daniel 5:18-21). And the leadership He gives reflects the kind of society over which they would and will govern in any given period of time (Daniel 4:17).

This Present Society

The society we see about us today is a very decadent one spiritually and morally as numerous Scriptures makes known.

Among them are the prophetic words of the prophet Hosea who wrote about our specific day and time: “There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint (nothing held back from the cesspool of moral degeneracy), with bloodshed after bloodshed . . . My people are [being] destroyed for lack of knowledge . . . (Hosea 4:1, 6).

As to the reason why: it is a nation that has forgotten their God and His laws: “. . . Israel has forgotten his Maker . . . (Hosea 8:3; 4:6).

A Prophetic Taped Sermon by Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong

This last Sabbath (5-3-2008) we listened to a taped sermon given by Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong that was given October 29, 1983, entitled, “The Value of Human Life.”

In that sermon he made a prophetic conjecture, based on Scripture, and I quote what he said verbatim, word for word.

Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong:

“Women today want to rule over men. So we’ve had women at the head of governments. And don’t be surprised if you get a woman president of the United States. It could be the very next one. Don’t be surprised of the democrats come up with a woman vice president candidate and don’t be surprised if they win the election and don’t be surprised if the next president is a democrat and he dies in office and the woman then becomes president. And let me tell you that can happen within two or three years from now. Just don’t be surprised if that, and I’m not saying it will happen at all, I’m just saying it could and don’t be surprised if it does.”

By either of the two of the candidates on the Democratic Ticket being elected into office will fulfill ancient prophecies that were foretold for our day and time.

Senator Hillary Clinton

Though the country is virtually being ruled in part or whole by women in every avenue of this society, if elected Senator Hillary Clinton would then fulfill to the completeness of the prophecy given by Isaiah the prophet of God:

“As for My People (Israel), children are their oppressors, AND WOMEN RULE OVER THEM. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to stray (Margin: lead you astray), and DESTROY the way of your paths” (Isaiah 3:12).

Senator Barack Obama

If Senator Barack Obama is elected to the office of the Presidency of the United States, this will also fulfill to completeness an ancient prophecy of our day and time.

“The alien who is AMONG you shall rise higher and higher ABOVE you, and you shall come down lower and lower” (Deuteronomy 28:43-44).

Teamed Together as President and Vice-President

Considering the outcome of this final election, it appears at this writing that Senator Obama will be elected President of the United States. And if so, it also very likely that he will choose Senator Hillary Clinton to be his vice-president.

And, too, the probability exists of it being the other way around.

In either case with the two of them teamed together it would appear that Jesus Christ will enable them to win the election by a landslide. Now we should realize it is God in heaven who determines who the leaders are of not only this country but the world but at the same time He either intervenes directly or will use people to do His bidding. This is made very clear in the Book of Daniel in the life of King Nebuchadnezzar.

God Sets Over the Nations the Basest of Leaders

Not one of the three running for office is equal to the task of bringing this nation out of the quagmire of the un-resolvable problems facing this nation. This nation, as has been said by Glenn Beck, is in greater trouble than it has ever been in its entire history. And he is right.

Racial Riots Ahead

During the racial riots that broke out in this nation in the 1960s, Mr. Armstrong wrote that toward the end of this nation there will again be racial riots.

With this in mind, consider the very likely probability that Senator Obama will be elected as the new president of the United States and he also chooses Senator Hillary Clinton to be his vice-president and what could develop as the result.

What if President Obama is assassinated (as conjectured by Mr. Armstrong) by some white man and then Hillary Clinton then replaces him as president.

As polarized as the majority of the Black people now are with their efforts to try and get the first black leader into that office, and along with the very liberal element in this country, one can well imagine how this would galvanize all of these people into one unit into such racial riots as never seen before in this country.

During the racial riots of past years there was lots of television footage showing men and women looting and burning in their anger toward what they felt were, rightly or wrongly, perceived injustices to them.

The Assassination of Martin Luther King

Martin Luther Kings was a great non-violent civil rights leader and paved the way for equal rights for his people. A special day is set aside in this nation to honor his memory for his accomplishments.

But at the young age of 39, he was assassinated by someone on April 4, 1968 – who at the time was believed to be James Ray – a white man.

Later it was believed by the King family that he was not the one who killed Mr. King, but it came from others.

Possibly no one knows for sure who actually did it and if there were others behind his murder.

This country has faced much violence over the years of its history. It is now very bad and prophesied to become worse before it falls prey to the Revived Holy Roman Empire.

Could This Be Repeated in the Future?

Considering the possibility of what Mr. Armstrong said in his sermon, and considering the two running for the office of the presidency, along with the probability that God will enable them to be elected into that office, and then President Obama to be assassinated, we can only imagine the outcome of it.

Please realize this is only a conjecture even though it could become a possibility.

The Fallout on All Races

If this should become a reality, please know the great hardships from such struggles afterwards would befall the white, blacks, and all of the other minorities who now live in this country! And it would be devastating for everyone.

With the fast approaching famine amid the looting and burning of grocery stores could throw this country into a real famine overnight.

An Example from the Past

Consider what happened in Jerusalem in 70 A.D.: The Bible as History, Keller, Pages 399-400, “The Holy City was swarming with people for pilgrims had come from far and wide to celebrate the Passover.

“Disputes developed between the extremists among the zealots and the moderate party and interrupted their devotions . . . Only when an incessant hail of great stones came hurtling into the city and when, night and day, the heavy thud of the battering rams could be hear did CIVIL WAR end within the fortress. The rival factions came to terms.”

The different warring factions of the Jewish people fought so furiously against ONE ANOTHER they plunged Jerusalem into the straits of a famine by their burning and looting.

ANCIENT HISTORY IN BIBLE LIGHT, Miller, Page 261: “None of the previous calamities which had befallen Jerusalem is to be compared with this terrible siege. It lasted 134 days. The city was crowded for the Passover. The public granaries became empty. Private supplies were plundered. ‘At length no table was spared, nor regular meal eaten in Jerusalem. People bartered all their wealth for a measure of corn, and ate it in secret, uncooked or snatched half baked from the coals. They were often compelled by torture, by torture, to discover their food, or were more cruelly treated if they had eaten it. Wives would steal the last morsel from their husbands, children from their parents, mothers from children; sand there were instances of dead infants being eaten by their parents, so that the ancient prophecy (Deuteronomy 28:56, 57) in which Moses had described the punishments of the unbelieving Jews was fulfilled.’

This is in small type what will be taking place in the House of Joseph and other Tribes of Israel in not too many days ahead of us.

With the extreme Muslim terrorists dwelling here along with the tension among the extremists of the races, Manasseh and Ephraim are sitting on a powder keg with the fuse burning. We are running out of time in more ways than one

Though this country has experienced rebellion, conspiracies, and rival hostility throughout its history it has become worse in our time. It is a country and a world that is divided over many heated issues.

Now and then it boils over with wars and killings among the peoples of this world. It has even reached to the very top level of this country with attempted assassinations and some that were successful.

Assassinations of Past Presidents

The following presidents of the United States were assassinated while in office: Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and John Kennedy.

Efforts were made to assassinate others but failed. President Reagan was the last one to be seriously wounded March 30, 1981 while in office just 69 days into his presidency but escaped death.

The End of This Age is Fast Approaching

With the end-time prophecies in mind while seeing the very troubling problems dividing this country, it should not come as a great surprise to find the conjecture of Mr. Armstrong come to pass. Time will tell.

In this interim period of time, there is a great need to try hard and be close to God and Jesus Christ so that IF racial riots do develop under such circumstance, we MUST bridle our emotions! Though it can be difficult we must not let Satan stir up the evil human nature that dwells within each of us to take sides in the conflict.

Mob violence is like a fever that can sweep over everyone; and it can affect adversely any and all whoever the person might be regardless of race or nationality.

Holy Scripture forbids us as God’s people NOT to be swept up with any kind of a mob out of control and for whatever the reasons might be. We are to maintain control of our mouth and our actions in such circumstances: “You shall NOT follow a crowd to do evil” (Exodus 23:2).

Now, and looking ahead, we MUST remember who we are regardless of race and nationality.

The Politics of This Nation

A Reminder: It is to be noted, that we as God’s people are not to be politically motivated nor should we involve ourselves in any way with any and all elections. Though we love and care for this country dearly, and pray for it, and should for the leaders whoever they might be, this is where our involvement ends; as it did with Jesus Christ when He was here on earth (John 18:36).
